Howell Completes Northfield MOB

Denver, CO (June 3, 2022) – Howell Construction was selected to provide core and shell construction for the 31,000 SF Northfield Medical Office Building. The team went on to provide interior finish for the two clinics inside the two-story medical office building. The newly completed facility houses a UCHealth Clinic and the Mountain View Pain Clinic.

The core consisted of two rated egress stairwells and a two-stop elevator and lobby. Howell utilized prefabricated wall panels for the exterior of the new building. The panels were constructed in a local warehouse using cold-formed metal framing, sheathing, an air/water resistive barrier, insulation board, and feature EIFS and new brick exterior finishes. The panels averaged 31-feet by 11-feet in size and when installed, completed the skin construction in 12 working days.

Subcontracts were issued at the DD stage to avoid potential material delays for major project scopes. The project faced permitting delay challenges, but these were overcome by resequencing site and building construction as well as accelerating scheduled activities where possible. Overall construction was completed in nine months starting in June 2021 and completing March 2022.

“In today’s reality of supply chain challenges, our team had to get creative to ensure we stayed on track for completion,” said Todd Berry, Howell Construction Vice President. “Thanks to resequencing and permitting efforts, the project was completed on time.”
