Joe joined Howell in 1995 as Vice President before moving into his current role of President in 2001. He has been instrumental in transforming Howell from a small, family-run business into a market leader in the Advanced Industries, Corporate Interiors, General Commercial, and Healthcare sectors without compromising the values the company was founded on.
During his tenure at Howell, Joe has become well-known for creating construction solutions that integrate with clients’ strategic business objectives. His consultative style has helped Howell form strategic partnerships and long-term alliances with many leading Colorado companies.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He is currently serving as a board member for the Associated General Contractors of Colorado, an active member of the Colorado WPO chapter, and a member of the board of governors for the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation. Joe is also an active contributor with the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver, spending seven years on the associate board prior to serving on the board of directors for the past six years.
When he’s not in the office, Joe enjoys spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with his family. He also enjoys skiing, hunting, archery, and playing golf.
Roger joined the team in 1999 and is Howell’s general manager. He leads the Advanced Industries group, oversees the accounting department, and supports business development pursuits. Roger's commitment to excellence is evident in his hands-on approach, guiding his teams through every stage of a project, from preconstruction to completion, fostering trust and strong client relationships in the process.
Roger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. He has earned an EIT designation, is a LEED® Accredited Professional, and possesses Lean-CM certification. Additionally, Roger is an ICC Class ‘A’ General Contractor and holds licenses for numerous municipalities along the Colorado Front Range. Roger actively engages in various professional organizations to stay abreast of market developments.
Roger and his wife Dawn are proud parents of three wonderful, almost grown children and outside of family time, Roger enjoys the great Colorado outdoors. His hobbies include being an avid Umbraphile (someone who chases solar eclipses globally) and many other open-air activities.
Todd joined the Howell team in 2016 as Vice President. In addition to providing leadership on select projects as project principal, his primary responsibilities include managing preconstruction teams and supporting business development efforts in Howell’s existing Healthcare and General Commercial market sectors. Todd appreciates the principal-led project management that Howell provides to all of their clients.
Todd began his construction career in 1989 as a field engineer after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in construction engineering from Iowa State University. After 24 years with a national design-build firm, Todd moved to Howell Construction to share his experience and deliver on Howell’s brand promise of “Always Great Performance.” In addition to being a LEED® Accredited Professional and a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), Todd also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University.
Todd resides in Denver with his wife, Pam, and their two daughters. Todd enjoys entertaining and spending time with family and friends. He is also an avid traveler and is constantly planning his next overseas adventure.
Andrew Gilstrap, MBA, LEED® AP, joined the Howell team in 2024 as Vice President. Andrew brings successful and extensive large-scale project experience in Howell’s key market sectors, including Advanced Industries, General Commercial and Public Sector. Andrew strives to create raving fans of all team members through his servant leadership mentality on his projects. In addition to project oversight and business development responsibilities, Andrew will help oversee critical business functions within the company and will provide strategic visioning as the company moves toward their 100-year anniversary.
Prior to joining Howell, Andrew spent 17 years with a prominent national general contractor in the Front Range managing high-profile Advanced Industry and Public Sector projects. Andrew received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.
During his career, Andrew has been a member in the Institute for Sustainable Laboratory (I2SL) Colorado Chapter, and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE). He also is an avid supporter of the Melanoma Research Foundation as well as the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver, serving on the Associate Board of Directors for four years.
When not in the office, Andrew loves spending time with his wife, Melissa, and his kids, Noah and Lydia, camping and exploring Colorado State Parks and National Parks throughout the country. Andrew also enjoys golfing, hunting, and skiing with friends and family.
