MSU Denver – Health Institute’s Simulation & Skills Laboratory
The MSU Denver’s Health Institute’s Simulation and Skills Laboratory is an essential part of the University’s multidisciplinary Health Institute. The 42,978 square-foot project, which spans four campus buildings, includes newly renovated spaces for the Criminal Justice Center, the Center for Teaching, Learning and Design, the IT Help Desk, Nutrition, Health Professionals, and a state-of-the-art nursing simulation laboratory.
The centerpiece of the project is the new 18,875 square-foot nursing simulation space in the West Classroom building on the Auraria Campus. Designed by Clark & Enersen, the area provides a realistic hospital environment where students can perfect their clinical skills. It features 26 simulation beds, a nurses’ station, exam rooms, an Intensive Care Unit, a homecare room, and a full-scale ambulance. Instructors can observe students through soundproof walls with one-way glass and interact with them using advanced audio-visual systems.
