Littleton Public Schools – Twain Production Kitchen
The Twain Production Kitchen renovation for Littleton Public Schools (LPS) transformed the facility into a modern hub for District-wide food preparation and distribution. The new central kitchen strengthens the District’s ability to meet the nutritional needs of its growing student population while streamlining operations from one primary location.
Howell Construction renovated 3,270 SF of space, including the production kitchen, adjacent office, and cafeteria. Work began with the removal of outdated equipment and demolition of ceilings, flooring, and select walls, followed by the installation of a new grease interceptor and state-of-the-art kitchen equipment capable of handling high-volume production. Along with these upgrades, the team modernized the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to provide long-term reliability and a safer, more efficient workspace.
With equipment lead times stretching 12-18 weeks, Howell prioritized early procurement and proactive coordination to keep the project on track. Careful planning ensured that materials arrived on schedule, allowing the facility to be delivered on time and aligned with the District’s operational calendar.
The completed kitchen now serves as the backbone of LPS food service operations, enabling efficient preparation and distribution of meals to multiple schools across the District. The renovated layout and utilities support greater production capacity, reduced maintenance needs, and a better working environment for staff.
The success of this project highlights Howell Construction’s ongoing partnership with Littleton Public Schools. By delivering a facility that combines functionality, efficiency, and long-term value, Howell has once again supported the District in meeting its goals and investing in student well-being.
