Littleton Public Schools – Gaskill Elementary
The new 90,000 SF school was built from a state-of-the-art design by HCM Architects and was constructed on the existing Franklin Elementary campus greenfield schoolyard, replacing the aging building. Once demolished, the Franklin Elementary footprint was transformed into playgrounds, playing fields, and parking serving the new school and neighborhood. The school was completed on schedule and opened for students in August 2022.
This project was characterized by high levels of collaboration among all stakeholders, including end user groups. Application of LEAN construction techniques including daily huddles, visual planning, and weekly look ahead schedule meetings ensured all 52 trades on site understood the plan and could work free of job site coordination conflicts. When completed, the Howell team took great pride in turning the new school over to the District – just in time for classes to begin in August.
