CDHS – F2 & F3 Cottage Renovations
The Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan is a forensic mental health facility serving a population of patients who have committed or are being evaluated for having committed a crime and are showing signs of or have been diagnosed with a mental illness. Howell’s scope consisted of the asbestos abatement and renovation of two existing residential units and the construction of a connecting structure. The connector provides a secure entry, patient visitor entry, space for patient support services, and a mezzanine for mechanical and electrical equipment. The entire construction team had to undergo background checks due to the sensitive nature of the patient population. Upon completion, the newly renovated and connected cottages provide up to 44 residential beds with treatment areas, detention/restraint space, observation, and more.
