Senior Accountant Attributes

Howell Construction is looking for an experienced individual with higher level accounting experience and abilities. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to grow within the company and have potential to move into a lead level accounting position in three to five years. This is a key position within the company and we are seeking a long-term team member that fits our organization. Attributes of a top candidate include:

  • Accounting degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience
  • Construction experience and payroll experience would be a huge plus
  • Intermediate or better knowledge of Excel
  • Vista ViewPoint experience a plus
  • Experience working with AIA Billing
  • Oracle Textura experience preferred

Position Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the full cycle accounts payable process including triaging and responding to the AP shared inbox which will include invoices, pay applications, payment follow ups, vendor and inquiries
  • Processing billing through Oracle Textura, set up new vendors/customers, and apply for sales tax exemption certificates
  • Performing GL reconciliation, assisting with audits, fixed assets, 1099s, sales & use tax reporting, and liens

Salary | Compensation | Benefits

Compensation for this in office position is competitive and commensurate based upon experience: target base salary is $80K, eligible for an annual bonus up to 12%, company benefits, etc.
