1,100 Room/Suite Renovation/Regency Club Renovation/Convention Space Renovation

Howell Construction's role after award consisted of pre-provisioning and tracking all long lead materials, including owner purchased items. Additionally, we created highly detailed logistics plans that would allow for hotel operations to continue with an 85% occupancy, while moving extensive amounts of material without impact to Hyatt guests (remained "invisible" to clientele). Howell used our open book process to competitively bid the subcontract trades and establish the GMP as CDs were developed.

Other logistics problems that were solved during preconstruction included minimizing impact to the hotel’s booking schedule and still accomplishing a very aggressive schedule. The 1,100 rooms on 33 floors renovation was completed in 4 1/2 months and the the two floors of convention space was renovated in 2 months. The fast-track time frames were accomplished by working two, 10-hour shifts daily, six days a week.
